Machu Picchu Trekkers Reach Aguas Calientes

Today the team continued toward Machu Picchu. The terrain shifted as elevation dropped, with greener vegetation and warmer air replacing the higher alpine environment of previous days.

The descent included long stair sections and sustained downhill walking. Trekking poles were key on the steeper sections, and the day required focus and steady pacing.

By the end of the day, the team reached Aguas Calientes (2,040 meters / 6,693 feet) and checked into the hotel, marking the end of the trekking portion of the expedition. The evening was spent resting, showering, and getting ready for Machu Picchu the following day.
