Machu Picchu Trekkers Arrive in the Sacred Valley
Our inaugural Rugged Luxury Expeditions journey to Machu Picchu began with arrivals in Peru and a smooth transition into the Andes. After landing in Cusco, guests were met by our local team and transferred directly into the Sacred Valley, descending to lower elevations through lush valleys and terraced hillsides.
Once at the hotel, trekkers checked in and had time to unpack, rest, and settle in after a long day of travel. Some spent the afternoon relaxing, while others made use of the hotel amenities.
In the evening, the team gathered for a welcome briefing and dinner. There, they reviewed the days ahead and eased into expedition life at a relaxed pace. The day was intentionally easy-going, with a focus on arrival, introductions, and setting the foundation for the journey ahead.
