Dead Woman’s Pass on Inca Trail for Trekkers
Today, the team fueled up with breakfast and started the steady climb toward the highest point on the Inca Trail: Dead Woman’s Pass (Warmiwañusca) at 4,215 meters / 13,828 feet. The trail gained elevation gradually through the morning before topping out at the pass, where the views opened up across the surrounding peaks and valleys.
At the top, the team took time to celebrate with champagne toast, a standout moment on the biggest climbing day of the trek.
After reaching the pass, the team began the descent into the next valley and continued on to camp for the afternoon. Once settled, the focus shifted to recovery, with a hot meal, warm tents, and time to rest up after the hardest day on the trail.
