Everest Base Camp: Where Most Trekkers Stop, Your Journey Continues

Our Rugged Luxury teams have been making great progress in the Khubmu Valley. Here's the latest from our trekkers:

Team 2 made it to Everest Base Camp (17,600 ft / 5,364 m). Awaiting their arrival was champagne on the Khumbu Glacier, a barista-made cappuccino with the icefall framed through the dome window, and two nights in insulated geodesic domes with proper beds, fur throws, and nothing but cozy vibes. Everest Base Camp proper is where 90% of trekkers never reach, and where the world's great summiteers prepare their climbs to the top of the world.

What makes this journey to Everest Base Camp different isn't just the luxury. It's the access. From Lobuche, our route leaves the main trail entirely, dropping away from the crowds and into off-the-beaten-path terrain that the general public simply never reaches. Exclusive tented camps, an acclimatization climb on Awi Peak, and an ice climbing clinic on the Khumbu Glacier itself, coached by an Everest summit guide on the same ice the world's greatest climbers train on. This is not a trek that ends at a viewpoint or a spray-painted rock. It's the real deal.

In the Khumbu, we also have two private trekking teams. The first of those continues their stay at Lobuche Base Camp tonight, enjoying the luxury digs, with Everest Base Camp on the agenda tomorrow. And the other team is lower in the valley, guided by Tomi Ceppi. Today they arrived in Namche Bazaar (11,286 ft / 3,440 m) to acclimatize before pushing higher.

And back in Kathmandu, Rugged Luxury Team 2 wrapped their expedition in style with a UNESCO city tour and a degustation dinner at Dwarika's to celebrate reaching Everest Base Camp
